I grew up on a farm in Enterprise, Alabama surrounded by fields, woods, creeks and ponds. At any given time, we had cows, pigs, chickens, turkeys, goats, horses, hamsters, at least 10 barn cats, and 3-6 family dogs. On the farm, I could always be found outside in my bare feet and overalls with the dogs. They were my best friends.

In college I could not have a pet, but soon after graduation, I got a border collie mix puppy named Fermina. We had 13 wonderful years together until she passed away from spleen cancer. Soon afterwards I found Polly, a Mini Australian Shepherd, on Petfinder.org. Kenya, a lab mix, came along when her owner had to move out of state with a new job that required more travel. And in January 2015, I brought home the adorable Toy Mini Aussie, Izzie. I love my 3 furbabies!!!

I have always been around pets and I always have taken care of pets for my friends and neighbors. This turned into my own pet care company called Polly’s Pet Care in Atlanta. I boarded dogs in my home, did mid-day walks and in-home visits for out of town clients. I grew the business from zero clients to over 50 in the first year and a half. At the same time, I worked in real estate, was president of my very active neighborhood association and served numerous community organizations.

The moment I saw Spring Valley Farm I knew in my heart that it was the perfect place for me. I am finally back home to the farm where I am the happiest, surrounded by dogs.

Kala Roberts
I grew in the small town of Candler NC on a goat and sheep farm, and I have lived in these beautiful mountains my whole life. Growing up I was always outside, playing with the animals, in the creek or playing in the hay loft. From a young age I knew I wanted to work with dogs, I was always happiest working and playing with the dogs. I have 2 small babies of my own, Yeti a little Maltipoo baby boy, and the newest addition is another baby boy, Pip a tiny little Pomeranian!

Katie Weibel
I grew up on a large dairy farm where compassion for all animals was instilled early on. I had a particular love for dogs, and my fondest childhood memories are framed with the many dogs I spent my days with. I am currently working on my thesis project to graduate from Bergin University of Canine Studies with a M.S. in Canine Life Sciences, 2018. I love all dogs and look forward to meeting yours!
